“I’m not disappointed because you didn’t recognize me,” she said.
“I’m disappointed because you decided I was guilty before asking me a single question.”
Those words echoed through the boutique.
The owner turned toward his staff.
“Luxury isn’t measured by diamonds, gold, or expensive watches,” he said.
“Luxury is treating every customer with dignity before you know who they are.”
Several shoppers quietly applauded.
The security guard lowered his head.
He realized that protecting a jewelry store didn’t mean accusing people based on appearances.

Before leaving, the woman paused beside the same diamond necklace she had been admiring.
She smiled before saying,
